I’ve been really bad about posting of late, but the good news is that I have been busy so there is no shortage of work to share. Here is my take from a story I did for The Communicator recently on rookie jockey Jude Baca from Santa Rosa who is already winning races at the Downs of Albuquerque. My friend Jakob Schiller did a feature on Jude while he was still in high school, getting ready for prom, so check it out too.
Drought at Twin Lakes for The Communicator

New Mexico has finally been getting rain showers over the past few days, the first real rain of the year. At Twin Lakes private club in Santa Rosa NM, locals say the water level has gone down over previous summers. The evidence is not hard to see along the shoreline. I made this series of pictures of the Lucero family on assignment for the Guadalupe County Communicator, not too bad considering I didn’t know what I might be photographing when I arrived in town that day.
