I know, I know, it has been a long time since I posted on this blog. I’ll try to post more often in 2013 – not a resolution, just something I need to do.

Here is a portrait shoot I had recently for The Chronicle of Higher Education, one of my favorite clients. You can read the entire article by clicking here. Big thanks to Rose and Erica for being wonderful editors. Also, thanks to the James Kelly Contemporary Art Gallery for letting us shoot in their space. There are some outtakes available for licensing on my archive.

The Caravan For Peace passed through Santa Fe last month. You can find out more about their mission by visiting their website. I was asked to photograph it for one of my favorite clients, Drug Policy Alliance.

Last year, I was commissioned to create a series or portraits for Albuquerque Economic Development, Inc., a private, non-profit corporation that helps promote and recruit local businesses for use on their new website. I was trilled when they asked to do it again this summer. Above are a few of my favorite resulting pictures. Thanks for looking!

Introducing Nuevo Wedding Photojournalism

I’m thrilled to announce my new wedding photography venture Nuevo Wedding Photojournalism. This website has been in the works for months now. I try to approach my wedding work in the same manner as my editorial and personal work, so the goal of Nuevo is to really define what people can expect when they hire me to document their big day. Anyway, I hope you’ll check out the new site and like us on Facebook too because we are all about word of mouth, so please tell your friends!

Also, we’re on the lookout for second photographers and paid assistants, so if you are interested send us a private message.

RIP Johnny Tapia

Albuquerque boxing legend Johnny Tapia has died. In the end, his battles outside the ring were much more difficult for him.
